 𝐊𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐢 is a 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐲 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 in 𝐊𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐡𝐬𝐢𝐥 of 𝐃𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 and 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 of the 𝐒𝐞𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 of 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐲𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐡.It is 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝟑𝟐 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬. It is 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 to 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢 𝐓𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞 through 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐬. The 𝐝𝐫𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭 consists of 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐤, 𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐮 and 𝐛𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐨𝐨. It has a 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 of 𝐭𝐢𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐬,which have probably 𝐦𝐢𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 from 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢 and 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐊𝐡𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐢. 𝐋𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 are 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭 in 𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬. Other 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐬 are 𝐣𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐬, 𝐣𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐬 and 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐡𝐲𝐞𝐧𝐚.  The 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 is a 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤 that is 𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 in the 𝐁𝐥𝐮𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 of 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐒𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐬, in 𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚. The 𝟐𝟔𝟕,𝟗𝟓𝟒-𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐞 national park is 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 approximately 𝟖𝟎 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 of 𝐒𝐲𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐲. 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐭𝐞 the name 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐬, the area is an 𝐮𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐮, 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 by a 𝐧𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 of 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬.  The 𝐀𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢 𝐑𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 is a 𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 in 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡-𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚, running approximately 𝟔𝟕𝟎 𝐤𝐦 in a 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡-𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐡𝐢, passing through 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚 and 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧, and 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 in 𝐀𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐝, 𝐆𝐮𝐣𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭.The 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐤 is 𝐆𝐮𝐫𝐮 𝐒𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐡𝐚𝐫 in 𝐌𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐛𝐮, 𝐑𝐚𝐣𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 at 𝟏,𝟕𝟐𝟐 𝐦.  𝐄𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 is a national park in 𝐧𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐰𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐚 and one of the 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐚.It spans an area of 𝟐𝟐,𝟐𝟕𝟎 𝐤𝐦^𝟐  and was named after the large 𝐄𝐭𝐨𝐬𝐡𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐧 which is almost entirely within the park. With an area of 𝟒,𝟕𝟔𝟎 𝐤𝐦^𝟐, the Etosha pan covers 𝟐𝟑% of the total area of the national park.The area is home to 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐬, 𝐛𝐢𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐬, including several 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝 and 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 species such as the 𝐛𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤 𝐫𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐨𝐬. The 𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐬 are the 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐠𝐞𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐟𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 in the national park. The main depression covers an area of about 𝟓,𝟎𝟎𝟎 𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐬.
